Local favorites include Cafe Monarch, offering sophisticated, prix-fixe New American meals in an elegant, chandelier-lit space; The Mission, a chic, dimly lit restaurant and lounge serving modern, upscale Latin cuisine and craft cocktails; FnB, a gastropub with a refined, farm-to-table New American menu and many local wines; and Olive & Ivy, serving Californian-Mediterranean fare in stylish, bustling quarters.

Things to Do

Several special events are hosted annually in Old Town Scottsdale. Long recognized as one of the top art fairs in America, the Scottsdale Arts Festival is a three-day-long celebration of art, music, food, and family fun. The event features 180+ jury-selected artists from throughout the United States and Canada as well as live music and entertainment on two stages, gourmet food trucks and vendors, and creative activities for kids.

The Scottsdale Culinary Festival, one of the longest continually running events of its kind in the country, was founded more than four decades ago to raise funds for Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts. Today, the reinvigorated Culinary Festival is under the direction of Scottsdale Arts, a multi-disciplinary, nonprofit arts organization that operates the Center. This daylong, outdoor lifestyle experience features booths from numerous local restaurants, demonstrations by some of the nation’s top chefs, and interactive seminars by food and beverage industry leaders.

Residents of Old Town Scottsdale also frequent Scottsdale Stadium. Built in 1955 and updated throughout the years, this venue serves as the spring training home for the San Francisco Giants in February and March. As the centerpiece of a vibrant downtown, Scottsdale Stadium is a crowd favorite each spring as evidenced by its crowds.
